Why we exist

We are a non-profit association that sees the whole person and gives people with chronic, often unexplained symptoms a voice, a community and knowledge.

Purpose & mission

Taking symptoms seriously, making connections visible

The CMD & Scoliosis Network Switzerland is a non-profit association under Swiss law (Art. 60 ff. ZGB) based in Wollerau. Craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD) and scoliosis often fall between specialties in the healthcare system; it is precisely this often overlooked interface that we make visible.

Our mission is to make the often overlooked connection between the jaw system and the rest of the body understandable, as a possibility, not as a proven cause, and to reach people affected earlier. We work with a deliberate dual focus on CMD and scoliosis. An explicit purpose of the association is raising awareness of CMD among the public and the professional community. We inform and connect; we do not treat, and we promise no cure.

📣

Education

Understandable, honestly contextualised information on CMD and scoliosis, for people affected and healthcare professionals.

🔬

Research

Support for outcome and cooperation projects in accordance with the requirements of the Human Research Act.

🤝

Patient support

Low-threshold support for people who fall into the blind spot between specialties.

🎓

CME courses

Non-promotional CME courses for primary care physicians and specialists.

The association is independent, names no clinic and does not disparage other healthcare professionals or methods.

Our vision

From network to movement

We see the network as a growing community, step by step.

Members' academy

The network is to give rise to an academy for members: structured knowledge, training and shared experience, for people affected and healthcare professionals alike.

Community & study group

A lively community on an equal footing and a study group that carries knowledge of CMD regulatory medicine further and makes the blind spot between specialties smaller.

In the long term, we would like to win a prominent patron who gives the cause visibility and weight, so that people affected are heard and the topic reaches the public.

The people behind it

Board & team

The association is run by a volunteer board. All three members have one thing in common: they have been affected themselves. What they bring is experience from two directions, the professional and the personal.

Behind the network are people from medicine, dentistry and therapy who want to make the often overlooked connection around the jaw system visible, on a voluntary basis, independently and committed to the non-profit purpose.

👤

Dr. med. dent. Bodo S. von Gadomski

President

He himself suffered from craniomandibular dysfunction for more than twenty years. His own experience of severe head, neck and back pain gave him the drive to help other people affected, and this led to years of research.

With his concept of Ganzheitlich Funktionelle Rehabilitation (holistic functional rehabilitation), which has been applied since 1993, he combines medical knowledge with a holistic view of the body. At its centre is the interplay of the jaw system, the muscles and the body's statics.

To this day, he remains committed to the scientific development of the field and to interdisciplinary education about CMD.

👤

Kevin Häner

Board member

He works as a business analyst at a large insurance company and as market lead for Switzerland at a scale-up for digital customer communication.

Through his own experience with CMD over many years, he has a personal connection to the topic and is committed to helping people affected and advancing public education. He makes targeted use of new technologies to improve processes and connect people.

In the association, he mediates between people affected, healthcare professionals and the organisation, and builds bridges. His work is marked by commitment, empathy and the aim of bringing about tangible change.

👤

Onur Erdem

Board member

He has been committed to a holistic view of health for many years. His motivation stems from a personal story: he himself suffered from CMD and scoliosis for many years and knows from his own experience how deeply such symptoms can intrude on a person's life.

This gave rise to an understanding of the connections between body, mind and nervous system. He combines scientific knowledge with a holistic view of the person and places particular emphasis on awareness and personal responsibility.

In the association, he is committed to research, education and interdisciplinary cooperation. He is particularly interested in how posture, the jaw system and emotions are connected, and how this understanding can help people with long-standing symptoms.

The interests and affiliations of the board members are disclosed, for the sake of transparency and the independence of our CME courses.

Responsibility

Non-profit status & transparency

The Netzwerk für CMD & Skoliose Schweiz (Network for CMD & Scoliosis Switzerland) is a non-profit association under Swiss law (Art. 60 ff. ZGB), founded on 27 August 2025 in Wollerau. Its purpose and organisation are set out in the articles of association (in German).

You can read the articles of association here (in German, PDF, without the signature page). The first annual report will be published after the first ordinary general meeting; the association has existed since August 2025.

Independence

Separation from the clinic

The association is non-profit and non-promotional; it does not pursue the commercial interests of any individual practice or clinic.

The association has its own premises and is itself responsible for its CME courses: programme, speakers and content. During the start-up phase, it is supported by contributions from third parties, including in kind. This support is subject to one condition: it has no influence on content.

This separation is not a formality. It safeguards the independence of the content of our CME courses (CME) and compliance with fair-trading law with regard to commercial advertising (UWG). Contributions are reported in the annual financial statements; the board's interests and affiliations are disclosed.
